Teri Zahra Pe Musibat Lyrics in English (Roman)

Baba mere baba,
Teri Zahra pe museebat ki ghari hai,
Haaye baba.

Kaise darwaza hataaun, kaise Mohsin ko bachaaun,
Saans seene mein ruki hai,
Teri Zahra pe…

Haath mein jis ke mera haath diya tha tum ne,
Keh ke man kunto jise Maula kaha tha tum ne,
Main ne har mod pe baba saath us ka hai nibhaaya,
Haan mera jurm yahi hai,
Teri Zahra pe…

Teri ummat ne bana di hai yeh haalat baba,
Koi pasli bhi nahin meri salaamat baba,
Saans leti hoon main jis dam rukne lagta hai mera dam,
Sirf marne ki kami hai,
Teri Zahra pe…

Kabhi darbaar mein peshi ko bulaate hain humein,
Kabhi darwaze pe aa aa ke sataate hain humein,
Mere yeh phool se bachche poochhte hain yahi mujh se,

Kya meri Zahra yahi hai,
Teri Zahra pe…

Yeh aziyat yeh khaamoshi nahin dekhi jaati,
Zahra ghar ghar mein gayi hai,
Teri Zahra pe…

Aap ke sog mein taareek na dekha gaya ghar,
Aag darwaze pe ummat ne laga di aa kar,
Baba jaan baad tumhaare dekhiye ghar mein hamaare,
Roshni kaise hui hai,

Kya Madine mein koi hai,
Teri Zahra pe…

English Translation

Father, my father – this is the hour of calamity upon your Zahra; alas, father.

How shall I hold back the door, how shall I save Mohsin? The breath has caught in my chest. This is the hour of calamity upon your Zahra.

The one into whose hand you placed my hand; the one of whom, saying man kunto, you declared he is the Maula – at every turn, father, I stood by him; yes, this alone is my crime.

Your ummah has brought me to this state, father; not a single rib of mine is left whole; each time I draw breath, my breath begins to fail – only death now remains.

At times they summon us to appear before the court; at times they come again and again to our door to torment us; and these little flower-like children of mine ask me only this: what wrong have we done?

I am ashamed – how could I even tell you; how could I show you these marks of the blows; you would not know me if you saw me, and you would say: is this my Zahra?

This torment, this silence, cannot be borne; I cannot bear to see Ali so alone; to carry your message and proclaim the right of wilayat, Zahra went from door to door.

In grief for you, the house could not bear to be dark; the ummah came and set fire at the door; father dear, after you, see how our home was lit.

From the grave of Zahra a voice is heard: for how many centuries has my grave lain desolate; to lay a flower upon the tomb, to bring and light a single lamp – is there anyone in Madina?
