Man Kunto Maula Lyrics in English (Roman)
Refrain: Man kunto maulahu, fa haza Aliyun maula.
Ya maula ya Ali, ya Ali Ali maula.
Ghadeer-e-Khum mein Paighambar ka yeh ailaan hai,
Ali maula hai, sab ke Rab ka yeh farmaan hai.
Mimbar se yeh Ahmad-e-Mursal dekh rahe hain manzar,
Kitnon ka chehra utra hai ailaan-e-wilayat sun kar,
Aaj khushi se jhoom uthe Boozar, Salman aur Qambar,
Kehte hain maula hamara Ali hai.
Jalne laga koi, khush ho gaya koi,
Goonji sada yahi, dam dam Ali Ali,
Farmaan jo yeh jhutlaayega, woh seedha jahannum jaayega,
Yeh sab se Nabi ne bola.
Khushiyan manao, ghar ko sajao, maula Ali ke pyaaro,
Aaj mukammal deen hua hai, jashn manao yaaro,
Apni qismat ko chamkao aye qismat ke maaro,
Sadqa Ali ka, Khuda baantta hai.
Yeh mazhar-e-Khuda hai, yeh naaz-e-anbiya,
Aisa koi nahin, yeh sab se hain juda,
Yeh noor-e-Khuda hai, yeh nabz-e-Nabi, Ahmad ka wasi hai,
Sher-e-Jali hai yeh, dono jahaan ka maula.
Aisi waisi Eid nahin, yeh Eid hai mardon wali,
Yeh pehchan karaati hai ke kaun hai asl halali,
Us ki raunaq sab se alag hai, us ki shaan misaali,
Sab se badi Eid hai momino ki.
Yeh din kamaal hai, yeh din wilayati khushbu hai,
Chaar-soo Eid-e-Ghadeer ki.
Saanson mein basa hai naam-e-Ali,
Jab us ki mohabbat dil mein basi,
Har momin ka dil bola.
Meri har fikr mein, har soch mein, har baat mein tu,
Mere lehje mein, har andaaz mein, guftaar mein tu,
Mere izhaar mein, inkaar mein, iqraar mein tu,
Mere zaahir mere baatin mein hai bas tu hi tu.
Maula Ali, maula Ali, maula Ali maula.
English Translation
Refrain: Whoever’s master I am, this Ali is his master. O master, O Ali.
At Ghadeer-e-Khum the Prophet made this proclamation; that Ali is the master – this is the decree of the Lord of all.
From the pulpit, Ahmad the Messenger watches the scene; how many faces fell on hearing the declaration of wilayat. Today Abu Dharr, Salman and Qambar swayed with joy, saying: our master is Ali.
Someone began to burn with envy, someone rejoiced; one call echoed everywhere – with every breath, Ali, Ali. Whoever denies this decree will go straight to the Fire – this the Prophet declared to all.
Rejoice, adorn your homes, O lovers of Maula Ali; today the faith has been perfected, so celebrate, friends; brighten your fortune, O stricken ones – for by the grace of Ali, God distributes His bounty.
He is the manifestation of God’s signs, the pride of the Prophets; there is none like him, he is set apart from all; he is the light of God, the pulse of the Prophet Ahmad, his appointed successor; the manifest lion, the master of both worlds.
This is no ordinary Eid – it is the Eid of the brave; it makes known who is truly noble; its splendour is unlike any other, its glory exemplary – the greatest Eid of the believers.
This day is perfection; this day carries the fragrance of wilayat; on every side, the joy of Eid-e-Ghadeer.
The name of Ali dwells in every breath; when his love settles in the heart, the heart of every believer speaks.
In my every thought, reflection and word – you; in my tone, my every manner and speech – you; in my expression, my denial and affirmation – you; in my outward and inward, there is only you.
About This Manqabat
Man Kunto Maula commemorates the event of Ghadeer-e-Khum. On the 18th of Dhul-Hijjah, returning from his farewell pilgrimage, the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) raised the hand of Hazrat Ali (a.s.) before the gathered pilgrims and declared: Man kunto maulahu fa haza Aliyun maula – whoever’s master I am, this Ali is his master. This day is celebrated by lovers of the Ahlul Bayt as Eid-e-Ghadeer. The manqabat weaves the Arabic declaration together with Urdu verses of joy, devotion and love for Maula Ali, and is recited with great fervour at Ghadeer gatherings.
